MY JOURNEYS

GRADUATION 2021

DSCF3947.jpg

I made it!

Coming to Australia in July 2019, little did I know the past two years were the most amazing, challenging and rewarding years of my life.

Thank you, Australia, for offering me a life I always want to live.

Thank you, Darwin, for welcoming me to the land of the Larrakia people and for the opportunities it has to offer to my life and my career.

Thank you, Charles Darwin University, for making my Australian dream one step closer to reality.

Thank you, mom, dad and sister, for always standing by and supporting me all the way. I wouldn’t have today without you.

Thank you, my partner in crime, James. I was so ready for continuing my single life until I met you. Life gets much better, and I can’t wait to celebrate our next milestone with you.

Thank you, friends, colleagues and everyone who have helped me achieve this milestone and cheer for my success.

The Class of 2021 is the most adaptable and resilient group of students as we have not only survived the pandemic but risen to the occasion.

Thank you with all my heart!

STAYCATION

2020
was a strange year and I spent most of my time at home working on my projects. But I still loved it! Darwin has treated me well =)

GOING BACK TO AUSTRALIA FOR THE THIRD TIME

2018

After 30 years this is the first time the whole family travelled together.

I became God mother of our beautiful Miranda and we attended her baptism in a local church. It was really a special occasion for us

TRIP TO LAOS

2012
Only when in Laos I could understand how close their relationships with our country. People are extremely friendly. Food is amazing. If you are Vietnamese, there will be likely some Laotian people come up to you and start speaking in their fluent Vietnamese. For the first time in my life, I slept on a sleeping bus crossing our border overnight. And voila! Wake up in the morning you are in a different country! The trip was amazing! Highly recommend for those who would want to travel Indochine (Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia).

TRIP TO NHA TRANG, VIETNAM

2010
is the first time I travelled with just my granddad. He is also a free spirit who loves travel as much as I do. I never understand why mom booked the trip for me, him and one cousin of mine together until many years later. I found out my granddad, even at his 70s, 80s, tried to travel at least once a year. And back in the day we had this trip, mom was too busy building her business (she hardly had any days off, probably one week off a year) that she could not travel with him. On this trip, we talked about old stories, my childhood, the days I peed on his bed as a little kid and nappies were an unknown thing… and we just had good laughs.
I miss you granddad!

TRIP TO SINGAPORE & MALAYSIA

2009
marks my first trip aboard. Singapore is clean, modern and westernised while it still reserves its culturally diverse traditions strongly influenced by Chinese, Malaysian and Hidu. It is now my go-to transit spot whenever I want to fly home.
